Chukwuocha hold a PhD in Medical Parasitology. He works in the Department of Public Health Technology, Federal University of Technology Owerri, Nigeria as a lecturer, research Scientist and community worker. He is actively involved in infectious diseases research, particularly in identifying and tackling the challenges posed by infectious disease burden to community and national development. The results of his studies have provided important baseline data for control policies as well as for public health education and enlightenment in South Eastern Nigeria. He is a 2006 nominee of the American Society for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene young investigators award, selected a young affiliate of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS (2010-2014)), an Alumnus of the Lindau Nobel Laureate (Medicine and Physiology) meetings, TWAS-DFG visiting Scientist in the Institute of Tropical medicine and international health, Berlin, Germany and a mentor of the schlumberger excellence in education development schools project.
