Seck (PhD, 1989, U. of Dijon) is Senegal Minister of Agriculture and Rural Equipment. He is member of the Senegal Academy of Sciences and Technologies, and of the African Academy of Sciences. He is former Director General of AfricaRice and former Director General of ISRA, Senegal, and Technical Advisor to Senegal Prime Minister; Chair of FARA; Member of the Boards of Agreenium, GFAR, CORAF and AfricaRice; and African Representative in CGIAR Executive Committee. His honours and awards include France's Légion d'Honneur; Chevalier in French Order of Merit; Chevalier in Senegal Order of Lion; Officer in Senegal Order of Merit; FARA Certificate of Recognition; CORAF Medal of Honor; Agriculture Ministry of Mali Award of Recognition; and United Nations Award in his capacity as AfricaRice Director General. He has authored or co-authored over 100 publications.
