Abdoulaye is senior soil scientist and program leader at the International Center for Soil Fertility and Agriculture Development in Lomé, Togo, West Africa. He obtained his PhD (1997) in agriculture and environmental science at Wageningen University (WUR), The Netherlands. He has made important contributions in the area of land restoration and soil ecology, focusing on how to manage soil fauna activities for enhanced soil quality. He served as member of the Policy Advisory Committee member to the Dutch Royal Foundation for Tropical Research (WOTRO) and to the board of the Togolese National Research Institute (ITRA). His membership includes the Soil Science Society of Burkina Faso, The African Soil Science Society and the World Science Society. His award includes a prize of the Minister of Agriculture of Burkina Faso for the work of his team on soil and water management.
